Satrang Gallery’s exhibition titled ‘Respite’ by Sana Kazi
Satrang Gallery culminated its series of art exhibitions for 2017 with a delightful showcase titled “Respite” by Sana Kazi here at Serena Hotel – Islamabad.
The Ambassador of Italy, H.E. Stefano Pontecorvo inaugurated the exhibition which was attended by various members of the diplomatic & local community. Ambassador Stefano in his brief inaugural speech complimented the work created by Ms. Kazi and termed it ‘most impressive’.
Hailing from NCA, Sana Kazi’s work is rooted in the Indo-Persian miniature style bringing into play the use of ash, sand & dry pigments to produce captivating textured and multi layered art. The artist’s subject matter has been inspired by her own strong faith and upbringing surrounded by stories of epic heroes in search of truth and righteousness. This series of works has been inspired in particular by the beautifully illustrated ancient epic narratives, the Hamzanama and the Shahnameh, the epic poem by Firdousi.
